Taiwan Trip ( September 2016 )

This Taiwan trip was actually a continuation of ' wild, unique, anti-mainstream ' holiday idea after our Yangon trip ;P 

Taking advantage to go with friends fluent in Chinese, we made up our mind to explore Taiwan !! We took a package trip from one of the travel agent, it was a semi customised private package for 4 persons, 8 days 7 night, airport transfer was included.

Overall the trip was fun even though it was really tiring because we slept at different hotel every night..imagine the packing and unpacking tiredness..but the fun part was we managed to visit lots of place.. This time we chose to visit north and central part of Taiwan. Bring your travelling notebook to collect stamps from all the tourist attraction plcaed and also from the train station, yes train station !! It made you addicted collecting these stamps hahahaha... red line comes with red stamps, blue line with blue stamps, green line with green stamps, not sure with the yellpw line cause we did not manage to get it. Train station staffs were very helpful..

Generally, Taiwanese are friendly, with good gesture to help us while we speak poor Chinese and they could not speak English..

We love the night market too.. very big and clean !

So.. here is our itinerary , in a combination of culinary place and tourist attraction :

Day 1  - 10 Sept : 

SIN - TPE

From Taipei to Yilan :

- Visited Kostin bakery at Taipei : Kostin Bakery - 可仕町專業烘培

- Drop by to eat Salty pancake : 礁溪柯氏蔥油餅

- Tried Peanut Ice Cream, just next to the salty pancake

- Walked around Hot spring

- Visited Local supermarket

- Eat Steamboat for dinner at 上鼎日式涮涮鍋

Spent 1st night at Jaee Hotel 和風嘉一館

Day 2 - 11 Sept :

Yilan to Hualien :

- At Yilan, we checked on Tangweigou Park

and on the way to Hualien, we stopped at :

- R.Den Dessert Factory

- Meihua Lake 梅花湖風景區

- Zhu Dayu Culture Museum 祝大漁物產館 

- Nan Fang Ao Suao Fishing Port & Market

- Nanfang Ao Observation Deck

- Ching-Shui Cliff ( Qing Shui Duan Ya / 清水断崖 ）

- Qixingtan ( Qi Xing Tan / 七星潭 ）

- Hualien / Luodong Night Market

Overnight sleep at Crossing The Rainbow Bridge Bed & Breakfast

Day 3 - 12 Sept :

Hualien - Taichung, visited :

- Toroko National Park ( 太魯閣國家公園 )

- He Huan Shan - He Huan Mountain ( 合歡山 )

- Lunch with Urn Chicken ( 甕仔雞 )

- Visited Qingjing Farm ( 清境農場 )

Overnight sleep at Full House Sun Moon Lake Hotel

Day 4 - 13 Sept :

Taichung - Miaoli, visited :

- Sun Moon Lake tour ( 日月潭 )

- Miyaharu (Gong Yuan Yan Ke 宫原眼科 ) biscuit shop

- Eating famous ice cream : 宮原眼科冰淇淋

- Visited Old station

- Catching sun set at Guamei wetland ( 高美濕地 )

- Fengjia night market ( 逢甲夜市 )

Sleep at Kun Hotel

Day 5 - 14 Sept : 

Miaoli - Taipei, visited :

- Rainbow Village (彩虹眷村)

- Long Teng Broken Bridge ( Long Teng Duan Qiao 龍騰斷橋 )

- Primary School with beautiful stair painting ( 建中國小彩繪階梯 )

- Gong Wei Tunnel ( Gong Wei Xu Sui Dao 功維敘隧道 )

- Visited Nan Zhuang Old Town ( 南庄百年洗衫坑 )

Sleep at LTC Holiday Villa ( Lìtián zhuāng mínsù 栗田莊民宿 )

Day 6 - 15 Sept : Taipei, visited :

- Shi fen station lantern plaza ( 十分平溪天燈老街廣場 )

- Jiu Fen Old Street ( 九份老街 )

- Shopping at Vigor Kobo HQ ( 維格餅家承德總店 )

- Strolling around at Ximending ( 西门町 ) trying all the famous stall such as :

** AY-Chung Flour-Rice noodle 阿宗麵線

ZZZzzzz at Midtown Richardson Hotel

Day 7 - 16 Sept : Taipei, visited :

- Chiang Kai Sek Museum  ( 中正紀念堂 Chiang Kai-shek  )

- National Palace Museum ( 國立故宮博物院 )

- Shopping Tsum Tsum Shoes at Grace Gift Shop Taipei SOGO ( 台北忠孝SOGO百貨B1 )

ZZZzzzz at Midtown Richardson Hotel

Day 8 : TPE - SIN
- Must try the Taiwan fried chicken sold at the airport food centre. Really good !
